Dem Bums sweep Dback

Ebbets Field
GAME 1
Schilling vs Meyer
Dodgers 6, Dbacks 3

Monk Meyer matched Schill pitch for pitch for 7 innings and was poised for the win until pinch hitter Durazo slammed a 2 out game tying homer off reliever Milliken in the 9th.  In the home half of the inning Jackie Robinson returned the favor with a 3 run walkoff blast that sent the fans in Crown Heights into a frenzy.

GAME 2
Batista vs Loes
Dodgers 2, Dbacks 1

Miguel Batista, who came into the game with a sub 1.00 ERA dominated the Boys of Summer for 7 shutout innings, while being the guardian of a 1 run lead.  Then in the 8th the Dodger bats were able to come to life.  Leading off the inning was pitcher Bill Loes, who majors in pitching to the level of his competition.  Loes roped a triple off the scoreboard then scored on Junior Gilliam's double to tie the game.  Two batters later the Duke lifted a fly to the warning track to easily score Gilliam to give Brooklyn a 2-1 lead.  Clem Labine came on board to pitch a scoreless 9th to record his 5th save of the season.

"The BOB"
GAME 3
Podres vs Anderson
Dodgers 12, Dbacks 5

Brooklyn went west for a short trip and not relocation (just yet).  The change in scenery did not change their luck, which has been coming up 4 leaf clovers as of late.  Young lefty Johnny Podres was pedestrian, but that didn't matter when his offense banged out 12 runs on 20 hits.  Campy (3-4) boosted his average to .305 and in the process knocked in 5 runs.  Skooonj (4-5) saw his average rise to .358.  As a team dem Bums are hitting .304.  Campy (2), Gil and Cox all went yard as Brooklyn sweeps the series.
