Yanks over Tigers 3-1, score tie for AL East

The Yankees forge into a tie for the division with a three games to one series win over the Tigers. But the Tigers deny them the outright division crown in the final game. Pat Mullin's two-run shot in the eighth off reliever Jeff nelson sealed the spoiler win for Detroit.

Fwd: KOD30 - Week 11 - Philly Takes 3 of 4 From the Lowly Birds

For two teams going in completely opposite directions this series was pleasantly competitive.  In game 1 te Birds pulled out a 3-2 victory over the A's.  Second game was all Philly, but the third game in Philly was a 10 inning nail-biter Philly won 5-4.  In the finale George Earnshaw for the A's totally dominated for 8 innings before tiring and the O's fell short in their comeback bid scoring 2 in the top of the ninth which was 2 less than needed to extend their season.

Great year by Philly, looking forward to seeing how the playoffs run!

KOD: Kluber No-Hits Yanks but New Yorkers Win the Series

In a showdown between two teams tied with the A's for first place in the NL East, the Yankees come up big to take the series 3-1. Tied at a game apiece, the Yankees won the last two at home, the finale on a two-homer day from Jason Giambi.

But at Progressive Field, the Tribe's Corey Kluber pitches a no-hitter, only allowing an error on a catcher's interference call.  That error represented the Yankees' only baserunner, as Kluber also gave up no walks on eight strikeouts.

The Yankees win in the series vaults them over the Tribe, which hopes to stay in the playoff running in the final series of the year.
