Congratulations to Isaac Corey, whose 2001 Arizona DiamondBacks advanced to in the post season with a 7-4 thumping of the 1928 St. Louis Cardinals.
The game started ominously for St. Louis as Craig Counsell drove a triple into the right field corner, and later scored. The DBacks followed with two solo home runs later in the contest, before the Cardinals closed the gap to 3-2 after 6 innings.
But the DiamondBacks put it away with a 4-run seventh, three scoring on a pinch-hit home run by Jay Bell. Cards manager Bike Mike had walked Matt Williams with a runner on second and two-out, to get the DiamondBacks to either remove pitcher Miguel Bautista for a pinch hitter, or let the righty bat. Isaac pulled the right strings by sending up Bell, who essentially took the drama out of a possible close finish with the 3-run bomb.

PS-On a personal note, this has been a fun KOD with a unique theme. My '28 Cardinals performed a little better than I expected, finishing only a couple games behind the powerful 1953 Dodgers. Thanks Marc!
